Mindful Resilience

  • Gaia Yoga 855 Marina Bay Parkway, Suite 110 Richmond, CA, 94804 United States (map)

In Mindful Resilience yoga we incorporate a phase oriented approach to PTS(D). The goal is to assist each participant in becoming aware of and effectively utilize their own supports.

Phase I = alliance formation, stabilization, grounding, emotional regulation, arousal identification and development of coping resources. The value of yoga for individuals coping with trauma lies primarily in its ability to foster development of Phase 1 goals.

Phase II = Overcoming avoidance, exposure, trauma processing.

Phase III = Behavioral activation, empowerment, expansion of comfort zone, post traumatic growth, development of curiosity and play.

In the Mindful Resilient yoga practice we help practitioners develop the support of their breath, their body, and their ability to ground. Students are supported by these and other available supports in their minds and bodies with the hope that they will then be able to develop the capacity to rely on additional support from their clinician, friends, families and communities in order to bring about healing.

COST: This is a donation based specialty series benefiting Veterans Yoga Project. No one is turned away for lack of funds.
