Nadia Bubtana

Nadia was encouraged by a friend to attend her first yoga class in 2009. Going to this class sparked a deep interest and set her down a new life path. As her practice developed, Nadia noticed subtle changes happening within herself and the world around her. “I started making healthier decisions in my everyday life and felt more grounded and calm in an often hectic world. I found that yoga was a full-proof method for making me feel good. Every time I stepped on my mat, I felt better than I had before, both physically and mentally. Once I had that realization, there was no looking back and yoga became a constant in my life.”

In 2012, Nadia completed a 200-hour Ashtanga Vinyasa teacher training at Asta Yoga in San Francisco. She continued her studies in 2013 with a 50-hour training in the Rocket Vinyasa method and Balanced Body Pilates Mat 1&2 certification. Nadia has completed numerous continuing education hours including Restorative, Trauma-Informed, Therapeutic, and Prenatal trainings, and she received her 500-hour certification with Namaste Yoga in Oakland in 2019.

In class, Nadia seeks to foster an environment where everyone feels safe and welcome. Focus is primarily on breath and alignment with the intention of moving safely and creating space in the body. With this connection between breath/body comes clarity in the mind, and the ability to create true transformation. She encourages students to maintain a regular practice and experience how yoga can be relevant in all aspects of life.

Nadia is grateful for the teachers that have made a lasting impact in her life and helped to foster her love of the practice, including Monique Jenkinson (Fauxnique), Larry Schultz, Maria Stanford, Steven Pyka, Rene Henley, Miranda Dalton, and Ada Lusardi.
