New Year Candlelight Yoga + Sound Bath

  • Gaia Yoga 855 Marina Bay Parkway, Suite 110 Richmond, CA, 94804 United States (map)

Let’s tend to ourselves this New Year in the nurturing space of a yoga class and sound bath, releasing the residue of the year we’re leaving behind and realigning our systems and restoring balance in ourselves.

Calming herbal tea will be available for you to enjoy upon arrival. We’ll begin with a slow mindful yoga practice to release tension and cultivate body, breath, and energy awareness. Reiki-attuned hands-on adjustments will be offered, as well as modifications to ensure the practice is accessible to students of all levels.

You will then settle into a supported savasana and let the sound waves of crystal singing bowls, koshi chimes, and an ocean wave drum wash over and through you. These sound waves and vibrations will soothe the nervous system, ushering you into a state of deep relaxation, allowing your body to release energy blockages and do the deep work of healing.

Students are encouraged to wear warm cozy clothes and socks. Please bring a mat and any other props (i.e. eye pillow, blanket, bolster) you have at home that will allow you to be comfortable during the sound bath. Bolsters, blankets and blocks are available at the studio as well.

COST: $45

EARLY BIRD PRICING (ends December 15th!): $35

Ashley Corri

Since discovering Anusara Yoga in 2007, Ashley’s relationship with mat, breath, and body has been the most consistent, healing, and empowering force in her life. This practice and its teachings have offered her deep refuge, as well as wisdom and inspiration for living an embodied and aligned life. Her college years opened her up to Eastern spirituality, and she graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree rooted in environmental & restorative justice, sustainability, and feminist theories of power & oppression. In 2016, she completed a 200-hr Iyengar-based yoga teacher training with Square One Yoga, alongside a 500-hr program in massage and bodywork, integrating Eastern & Western modalities. She has been both teaching yoga and practicing bodywork ever since.
