Anne-René Petrarca
Anne-René Petrarca is a dance artist, Alexander Technique teacher, somatic explorer, and the artistic director of Sculpted Motion. Her journey with yoga began in the 1990s in New York City and later led to a Vinyasa yoga teaching certification from the White Lotus Foundation.
She has been deeply influenced and inspired by a wide range of teachers, including Ty Landrum, Sara Baird, Erin Dudley, Keith Borden, Ganga White, Cyndi Lee’s Om Yoga Center, Laughing Lotus Yoga, and the anatomical teachings of Irene Dowd, Leslie Kaminoff, and Sara Neece. Other important influences include the philosophies of Krishnamurti, Thom Knoles (Vedic meditation), and Ram Dass, as well as practices such as Kundalini yoga, Gaga movement, dance, and Gyrotonics.
Movement has always been Anne-René’s primary form of expression. Her inspirations are rooted in nature, music, poetry, mythology, art, the pulsation of life, and the night sky. She sees life as full of flow and vibration and embraces the idea of being a work in progress, carving a path toward connection and meaning. To her, it is magnificent to be part of something rather than nothing.
Her signature class, Soulful Flow, is a robust Vinyasa yoga practice designed to awaken the body and bring balance to the mind and spirit. The class includes physically challenging, heart-inspired movement meditations and weaves in hand mudras, chanting, inspired readings, and music. This practice invites students to let yoga bring them closer to life.
