Adrienne Shamszad

Adrienne Shamszad (500 hr RYT), began her yoga practice as a teenage spiritual-seeker. Yoga became a pathway that helped her embody the spiritual longing she experienced and express it through movement.

In 2014, after more than a decade of study, she began teaching yoga asana and philosophy to students in the Bay Area. Adrienne’s main interest in teaching is in providing a healing container for students to build a relationship with their own practice and body. She encourages students to approach yoga not only as a source of physical relief and empowerment, but also as part of a spiritual journey, and to move with compassion and curiosity, building strength and energy from within.

Adrienne is also a lifelong musician, multi-instrumentalist and performer, and has been teaching voice and music for over 20 years. She makes music as medicine, using her voice and songwriting as a pathway to healing in herself and her audiences. She weaves her passion for music and liberated movement into her yoga teaching. Her classes are infused with humor, lightness, and love.

Adrienne's teachers include Nubia Teixiera, Ashley Sharp, Scott Blossom, Chandra Easton, and Nicole Becker.
