Mary’s background in health and wellness, community development, and time spent serving the Tenderloin community has grounded her in understanding, acceptance, compassion and connection. Her yoga practice has developed into the foundation for nurturing these elements within herself and her community.
As a student of yoga philosophy, alignment and sequencing, Mary completed her 200-hour teacher training in 2018 with Yoga Tree San Francisco. Her work and training in the arts, social justice and sustainability and nutrition has guided her through Berkeley, San Francisco and the East Bay. As a Berkeley native, Mary gets inspired from Chinese medicine, yoga philosophy, nutrition and physiology.
In her classes, Mary encourages creating space in the mind to discover more about the self. She uses movement to support individual meditation. Emphasizing grounding and full conscious movements, Mary hopes to guide students in deepening their ability to listen to their bodies, minds and spirits.
