Jewel began her yoga journey when she moved from the UK to New York in 1998, where she met an inspirational spiritual teacher, and has been on a powerful path of awakening through yoga practices ever since.
She completed her 200-RYT Yoga Teacher Training at Yogakula, Berkeley, and is currently completing her 500 hour training program. She also studied advanced Restorative Yoga with Judith Lasater and weaves in her sound bowls and unique singing voice for a deep relaxation and therapeutic experience.
Jewel combines heart opening and alignment focused yoga with sound healing, sprinkles of yoga philosophy and light heartedness. She believes what we practice on our mat is a blueprint for how we live in our world.
Jewel found that yoga healed so much in her own physical body from injuries, stress and trauma that she has dedicated herself to sharing these invigorating practices. She also became a certified TRE (Trauma & Tension Release) Facilitator in 2016; a somatic system for releasing tension and trauma from the nervous system. She is a recorded singer and song writer and sings regularly in her spiritual traditions and classes.
She teaches a variety of regular classes for all levels, in Berkeley, Albany and Point Richmond. Her classes emphasize alignment, core strength, hatha flow and deep breath work with restorative poses to create a deeper connection to the inner self. Come and join Jewel on the mat to discover your own authentic yoga practice and to have fun becoming strong, supple and more relaxed.
